手鏡を模したフレームの中には、世界の様々な言葉の一人称単数形が鏡文字で描かれた版画が入っています。
私たちは社会的な生き物であり、社会は言葉なしには存在できません。
この作品は、どの文字を認識することができるか、あるいはできないかーすなわちそれが鏡の像になるか否かーによって、見る人それぞれがどのような社会を生きているのかを映し出す鏡になることを意図しています。
また、イメージが立ち上がる瞬間の政治力学についての一つの考察でもあります。

I printed the word “I” on each surface of the hand mirrors I had made of ceramic materials, but in the corresponding forms to the first person singular “I” s used in different parts of the world.
Every one of us lives in a society, and no society exists without words.
What I intend to express in this work is, depending on which piece functions as “I” for each person, or on which one can be a mirror of his/her self-image, that one of these pieces can be a sign or a reflection of what he/she is, or what society he/she belongs to.
Also this work is an examination of the political dynamics at the very moment when a self-image presents itself for the viewer.
